When available, a video recording of the meeting will be on the Town Council and Planning Commission website.

From the Timnath Town Council website: The Town Council sets the policy and the Town Manager directs the daily operations of the Town.  Timnath’s Town Council consists of five members – four Council members that are all at-large, that is they are not elected based on council districts.  In addition, the Mayor is also elected at-large.  Council terms are four years and staggered.

Public Comment:

A citizen commented on the requirement for 30 parking spaces for a sit-down restaurant.  Surrounding communities only require 15 parking spaces which means Timnath is at a disadvantage for attracting restaurants other than fast food.   He stated that Timnath is not only losing out on tax revenue but that this also limits attracting restaurants particularly to Old Town.

Two attorneys announced the opening of their new law firm in Old Town.  They are pleased to be in that location and hope the Council will do more to revitalize Old Town.

Renzo Bianchi was appointed to the Timnath Planning Commission.

A first reading and scheduling of a public hearing takes place at the 6 p.m., July 23, 2024 Council meeting to adopt Ordinance No, 13, SERIES 2024:

PUBLIC HEARING TO AMEND LAND USE CODE

An Ordinance Adopting Amendment No. 16, Article 6, Article 10, and Article 12 of the Timnath Land Use Code will be read and a public hearing set on July 23.This proposal aims to amend multiple sections of the Land Use Code.  Through project reviews, internal communications, and Council recommendations, staff has identified the need to update the following items: criteria for private streets reference, annexation procedures, and regulations for oil and gas drilling and production.
