Library Director LaGenese presented the final 2024 library statistics that show increased use, while the community’s food pantry needs support.

Main Street & Events Coordinator Morris reported the first quarter statistics, including impacts, new projects, and committees to improve the town of Wellington.

The Parks & Recreation department received approval to purchase a new Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV) at a cost not to exceed $28783.48.

Library Director LaGenese presented the final 2024 library statistics that he said were all good news. Every area of library usage in 2024 increased from 2023 including:

  1. Regular users and Internet use
  2. Physical books and electronic materials
  3. Annual library visits

LaGenese said 45 volunteers help the Wellington library and year after year, the library continues to operate under budget. He also wants the community to know that the Wellington Food Pantry is struggling right now to keep up with demand and asked for help providing food for those in need. Food can be dropped at the library.

Main Street & Events Coordinator Morris reported 2025 Q1 statistics.

  • 400+ Volunteer Hours
  • $600 Fundraised (as of 4/14)
  • 10 out of 15 Partnerships & Collaborations engaged
  • 3,000+ Community Members Engaged
  • No Vacant Properties Sold/Leased
  • 2 New Businesses (Soul Squared & Ghost Dog Deli)
  • Increased Social Media Presence & Engagement

Morris also pointed out new projects for this year:

  • St. Paddy’s Parade & Festival
  • Mini-Grant Projects (approved at 12/10/24 meeting)
    • District signs
    • Murals
    • Shop Local Marketing Campaign
  • DOLA Community Video – still in production

Several committees utilizing 8 volunteers have been created to help with town projects:

  • Design Committee
  • Historic Preservation Committee
  • C3 committee that helps with the Cleveland Avenue project

  2. Resolution No. 16-2025 approves appointments made to the Planning Commission
  3. Resolution No. 17-2025 adjusts appropriations for fiscal year January 1, 2025 – December 31, 2025, approving a services contract with High County Low Voltage
  4. Resolution No. 18-2025 cancels a regular board meeting previously scheduled for June 24, 2025

The board unanimously approved Resolution No. 19-2025 approving a Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV) for the Parks & Recreation department. The Parks & Recreation Manager, Cooksey, said 2 of the department’s vehicles are older and have started breaking down over the winter months. It will take up to 60 days for delivery at a cost not to exceed $28,783.48.

The board unanimously approved postponing a scheduled Executive Session regarding legal advice on the North Poudre Irrigation Company. A future date is not yet decided.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:34 p.m.
